This year Fort Worth SWE challenged the Future Cities competition attendees with some mini engineering projects while they waited to give their presentations. Three challenges were offered:
- Build boats out of aluminum foil that can hold 25 washers without sinking
- Build a structure out of popsicle sticks and hot glue that can hold a box of small washers
- Build a paper airplane that can fly at least 25 feet
Many students stepped up to the challenge and had fun learning the engineering process of: design, build, test and redesign! The students who were able to meet the design requirements won free passes to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
