UNT’s Engineering Capstone Program

The University of North Texas’ College of Engineering is seeking industry-sponsored projects for its engineering senior design courses (“The Engineer’s Aerie”). As a project sponsor, your student team is working for you specifically on a problem of interest to you, and nothing else. Yes, they are students however they are seniors that are soon to be graduating engineers; they are not freshmen, sophomores, or juniors. Sponsoring a project facilitates the student’s taking flight on their engineering journey.

Projects include engineering elements of design, analysis, fabrication, and testing subject to your input requirements. By the end of the course, your student team will produce a solution that meets or exceeds your requirements. This is a great opportunity for sponsors to increase their visibility to students and vice versa for recruiting purposes as well as making cost effective progress on a project sponsors may not have had the time for or otherwise always got put on the back burner.

Sponsors have complete ownership of all project results. Last but not least “We provide the talent, you keep the IP.”

If you would like to propose/sponsor a project or request more information, please contact Dr. Thomas Derryberry (tom.derryberry@unt.edu or 940-565-4324), and of course we encourage you to visit our Capstone webpage http://engineering.unt.edu/capstone
