Summer 2015 Outreach Opportunities

Fort Worth SWE is hosting a Summer Outreach!

Fort Worth SWE is planning an Outreach Event in partnership with Girls Inc. of Tarrant Count on June 27th!. Volunteer and share your engineering enthusiasm by challenging participants to build the tallest marshmallow & spaghetti structure, building Jitter Bots, or teaching them how to make their own lip gloss.  You will also have an opportunity to share why you love engineering in a mini-mentoring session.

June 27 (Saturday) 8:30 am – 1:30 pm
University of Texas at Arlington

Lunch will be provided.

Volunteers will be required to submit a form for a background check by Girls Inc.

To volunteer for this event, please email Melissa Tacconi by Friday, June 19th and include your completed background check form.

 

Moon Day Outreach at the Frontiers of Flight Museum

Volunteers needed!Fort Worth SWE will again be participating in the annual Moon Day event at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. This public event brings DFW science and engineering organizations together in one place to offer exciting demonstrations, fun hands-on activities and more to participants of all ages. The Fort Worth SWE section will be providing hands-on engineering challenges. This will be a great opportunity to have a positive impact on local students and families by sparking interest in engineering.July 18 (Saturday) 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
