SWE helps kids build and play at iPLAY

photo_updatedOn August 2nd and 3rd SWE members volunteered at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History’s iPLAY event.  The event was held in the museum’s Innovation Studios and offered hands-on activities that combined science and technology with art to encourage kids to create and explore.  SWE members helped girls with the “Build Some Bling” activity that let them try out simple electronics by creating fun, unique light-up jewelry with LEDs.  At other activity stations kids played with bristlebots, created a pinwheel garden and made light paintings using a camera and light source.   Over a dozen playshop workshops were offered to engage children 8 and older in fun and inventive activities.
