On June 15th, Fort Worth SWE members and their spouses gathered at Copeland’s restaurant in Southlake for a banquet to celebrate a successful SWE year. It was an opportunity to reflect on the section accomplishments for FY13 which included:
– participated in 5 Outreach Events
– held 4 meetings with Collegiate Sections
– all officers attended both the society & region conferences
President Melissa Tacconi also offered a personal thanks to the officers who served for the FY13 SWE year.
As part of the evening’s events, the section bid a fond farewell and best wishes to Carolyn Cooper who will be pursuing an exciting new position with Exxon in Houston next month. Carolyn has served the section in the past by coordinating Girl Scout Workshops and serving as section vice-president. She also presented a paper at the 2011 national conference. She will be missed!
Additionally our FY13 Region Governor, Carol Bachman, presented Hope Schwalls with the Region C Distinguished Service award. This honor is bestowed upon one Region C SWE member per year who has demonstrated distinguished service as a SWE member for at least 10 years. Hope has been a member of SWE since joining in college.
