Girls in Engineering Day at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History

On February 23rd, Fort Worth SWE celebrated Engineers Week by exploring engineering with Girl Scouts at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.  In one workshop, girls made scribblebots – battery-powered robots that dance across the table, creating scribble art.  Some also participated in a hands-on activity to make sparkly lip gloss in a variety of colors and flavors.  The girls had an opportunity to meet both professional women in engineering and local female college students studying engineering.  The museum also offered a variety of other engineering activities, from building paper rollercoasters to trying out robots students built as part of a recent Cowtown Robotics competition.
